Attention to Detail

If you've been reading my newsletters, you may recall designers Cecile Thompson and Peggie Rhodes from Timpson Creek Gallery in Clayton, Georgia whose projects I've featured over the years. I'm excited to share photos of two projects they just completed that have taken years to finish, mainly because of such amazing attention to detail. The vaulted hallway in this newly renovated Atlanta residence has "Azure" walls and "Pearl" on both the ceiling and millwork. "Azure" was such a favorite, it was used as the main wall color throughout most of the home.

You don't usually see such ornate moldings like this, especially in a new renovation. The house was completely gutted three years ago, so all trim is newly milled and painted "Pearl". Moldings were especially created to display canvases from paintings that hung in the clients' previous home.

Many ceilings are painted "Christine's Cloud" like in this guest bedroom and bathroom. Walls are retired color "Shell Pink".

Ceilings in the photo above and below are "Christine's Cloud" with "Pearl" cabinetry & trim. The kitchen walls are "Merlin's Mist".

Initially, they chose "Shell Pink" for the ceiling in this powder room, but it wasn't bold enough to balance the wallpaper so it was changed to "Hot Pink!".

Switching projects, here are a few photos from the other project they just finished in Highlands, North Carolina for the same client. In this home, the master bedroom walls are painted "Oasis". As you'll see in the rest of the photos of this project, this client loves blue! Blue being the color of sky and water, it's considered the most favored color in the entire world. It's perfect for bedrooms because it's so soothing.

The furnishings in this home are typical of what you'll find at Timpson Creek Gallery. Cecile's husband, Dwayne Thompson, is the talented artist and master craftsman who created many of the pieces of Adirondack-style furniture.

We created custom color "Teal" for this guest bedroom's walls. The armoire below is typical of the Adirondack-style furniture that you'll find at Timpson Creek Gallery. Just a two hour drive north of Atlanta, there are two Adirondack-style buildings with 10,000 square feet of antiques and art in all forms.

The bedroom walls in the guest bedroom below are "Dusk" with "Bone" trim.

There are so many wonderful photos of these projects, I had a hard time deciding which ones to include so this newsletter is much longer than usual.  I can't tell you how much fun it is to finally see the finished projects after years of supplying the paint!
