There's been so much excitement happening here in St. Francisville! Last October Brandon Branch and Jim Johnston of Savannah purchased the St. Francisville Inn and finished the most miraculous renovation in the shortest time span I've ever witnessed. The Victorian Gothic Revival home located in the heart of St. Francisville's Historic District and built sometime between 1878 and 1881 has undergone a complete renovation that has everyone in town raving. Brandon, a decorator and stylist who was Paula Deen's Creative Director and Personal Assistant for 14 years, is the talent behind the drop dead gorgeous new look. His husband Jim brings the business savvy.

The Summer Parlor (above) mirrors the Winter Parlor (below) across the Entry Hall and opens into the Dining Room. We went with the same colors we used in the Entry Hall except for the Winter Parlor walls, I created  "Saint Bleu", named because it opens onto The Saint Bar.

The Saint Bar has already become very popular with locals. Open daily, they serve craft cocktails, appetizers and small plates. Brandon used a textural vinyl wallpaper that looks and feels like wood. I created "Brandon Blue" for the trim in PPG's new Break-Through product, an ultra durable product that cleans up with water, but acts like oil except that it dries in about 20 minutes. It will adhere to practically anything: fiberglass, concrete, ceramic tile, laminate. I had clients use it on their camp's linoleum floor and it's holding up really well!

The Breakfast Room with its attached Sun Porch is a wonderful place for breakfast during the week (8:00-10:00) and brunch on Sundays (until 2:00). It's already so popular with locals, you need to make a reservation by calling 225.635.6502.

Sun porch walls are "JV Cloud White", ceiling is "Silvery Blue" and floor is "Brandon Blue" Break-Through High Gloss (same product & finish we used in The Saint).

We used "Gustavian Grey" on all walls and ceilings in the rest of their private quarters, which includes a butler's kitchen, dining area, several sitting areas, bedroom, bath and small office. I couldn't resist showing several photos because "Gustavian Grey" has never looked more chameleon-like than in a space like this with all these angles and planes!

While Brandon and Jim are busy working downstairs, their dachshund snoozes.

I know this bath tub must be greatly appreciated at the end of a long day for these two new innkeepers!

I'm so excited to announce that I have a brand new website! Local artist and web designer Megan Moran Smith has just finished the new design. I hope you'll find it more streamlined and easier to use. I especially like it because it will be easy for me to update myself. My favorite page is the "Gallery" where you'll see photos with color therapy information. If you visit the "Shop Full Spectrum Paints" page, you'll see that it's also been updated to showcase the new Manor Hall interior and exterior products that I use for my new color palette. Almost all stores have PPG's new NexGen tinting system so I have removed the Pure Performance products and colors I retired that don't sell as well. Also, PPG discontinued Pure Performance's ultra white tint base that I use for my whites and lighter colors. I chose to use Manor Hall because quite frankly, it's the best I've ever used. Manor Hall has great coverage and the flat washes very well. Many stores are keeping the old tinting system, so if you don't see what you need, email me and I may be able to get it for you. I've also reduced my custom color fee from $200 to $60 in case they don't. As always, I'm available for color consultations at no charge when you purchase my paints.

On a personal note, San Francisco designer Barry Johnson, namesake for my popular "Barry's White", is coming next month to stay at The St. Francisville Inn. I can't wait to see him! You should come visit sometime. St. Francisville is not only quaint and beautiful, it's more happening than you'd think for such a small town and now we have a fabulous new place for you to stay!
